Contracted and Spent to Date: $0.0 MillionHill Middle School opened in 1980, with separate additions built in 1992. The district’s master facility plan identified the need for comprehensive improvements at Hill to address aging infrastructure and improve the student experience.
Planning work for the comprehensive improvements is scheduled to begin in 2027. Planned improvements include:

Secure vestibule at the front of the building for checking in all visitors and enhancing security

Exterior door replacements and the increased use of electronic access controls

Mechanical upgrades and system replacements throughout the building

The creation of a student commons area to support blended learning, enhance visibility and building circulation

Accessibility improvements to meet ADA compliance requirements

Expansion of science classrooms to properly support middle school science curriculum

Renovated kitchen, servery and dining spaces to modernize the school lunch experience

Building-wide LED lighting, furniture and classroom technology upgrades
