    Neuqua Valley High School opened in 1997 and is the largest of the district’s high schools by enrollment. The district’s master facility plan identified several areas of the facility and mechanical systems needing improvements or replacements. Additionally, the school has received minimal improvements to classrooms and learning environments since opening. The master facility plan also includes designs that will allow all students to attend the main campus for the first time since the early 2000’s. This improvement will allow the district to repurpose the Birkett center for district-wide programming and create operating efficiencies throughout the district.

    Comprehensive improvements to Neuqua Valley started in early 2025 with a new chilling system, a renovated student foods lab, and the continuation of parking lot replacements. Additional improvements include:

    1. Secure vestibule at the front of the building for checking in all visitors and enhancing security

    2. Exterior door replacements and the increased use of electronic access controls

    3. Mechanical upgrades and system replacements throughout the building

    4. Classroom addition with modern science classrooms, additional math classrooms and blended learning/collaborative spaces

    5. Expanded dining area with new furniture to modernize the student dining experience

    6. Front addition to enable safety and security improvements, consolidate staff offices, improve access to advisory and intervention services, and create a student commons

    7. Numerous improvements to physical education and athletics spaces, including a new fitness studio and installation of turf field

    8. A new suite of special education classrooms and offices specifically designed to support diverse learners

    9. Redesigned forum rooms to improve flexibility of space

    10. Building-wide LED lighting, furniture and classroom technology upgrades
