Prairie Children Preschool is the preschool program for Indian Prairie School District 204, offering early childhood education for children, ages three and four. The District serves parts of Aurora, Bolingbrook, Plainfield and Naperville, Illinois.
Prairie Children Preschool is located on the first floor of the Crouse Educational Center (CEC).
Session times are as follows:
- AM 7:50 - 10:20
- PM 12:10 - 2:40
Classrooms are composed of up to 18 children, 5-6 children with a disability and the remainder typically developing peers. Classrooms are mixed ages with three and four year olds.
One teacher and two teacher assistants are staffed in each classroom. Classroom teachers are required to have a four year teaching degree with an emphasis on early childhood education. Requirements also include certification by the Illinois State Board of Education in both general education and special education.
