- Builta Elementary
- Overview
-
Wayne Builta Elementary School is a kindergarten through fifth grade building in Indian School District 204. Builta opened in August of 1999 in Bolingbrook. Our mascot is the Badger, and our school colors are blue and white.
Our goal is also to build respectful Builta Badgers who will be responsible citizens and life-long learners. The Builta staff takes a proactive approach toward developing and maintaining safe learning environments with maximized instructional time.
- 3R's: Builta is a PBIS School. Respect Yourself, Respect Others, Respect Property. "Blue" PBIS tickets are earned by students to recognize, reinforce and encourage the positive behaviors we want to see from students. Students earn individual, classroom and schoolwide rewards.
- Social Emotional Learning (SEL): Social emotional learning is understanding how to manage and regulate emotions. We teach SEL skills through direct instruction of the Second Steps program, classroom meetings, mindfulness and affirmation activities.
- Problem solving process and skills: We focus on helping students to learn and create skills to apply in academics, daily living and conflict resolution.
