Field Trips: Other Groups
Other groups include private and public school groups, homeschoolers, community groups, or any group looking for a planetarium lesson during the school day (between 10:30 and 1:30 pm).
Field trip programs are best described as live, multimedia LESSONS that are developed and taught by a certified science teacher. All lessons are aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and created to be memorable experiences that cannot be replicated in the typical science classroom. See the LESSONS link for lessons offered by grade level with descriptions and standards.

The planetarium is a classroom. Two field trip lessons per school day are scheduled between 10:30 and 1:30 pm. Before and after field trips, the planetarium is used by high school science courses.
Field trip lessons are approximately 60 minutes in length. The planetarium has a seating capacity of 66 total visitors. There is a single-stalled restroom in the planetarium's hallway (no exhibit, classroom, or multipurpose room). The VISIT GUIDE includes more details such as costs, accessibility, and visitor procedures. It is highly recommended that you read this document before submitting a field trip request.
Requests for the 2024-25 school year will be accepted on September 3rd. Forms submitted before 12:01 AM September 3rd will not be processed.
