Field Trip Lessons
The WVHS Planetarium welcomes student groups during the school day from September through May following the IPSD 204 calendar. It is closed during the summer months of June, July, and August.
Field trip programs are best described as live, multimedia LESSONS that are developed and taught by a certified science teacher. All lessons are aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and created to be memorable experiences that cannot be replicated in the typical science classroom.
Although the planetarium is located at Waubonsie Valley High School, it provides K-12 science lessons for all students in Indian Prairie School District 204. Approximately 90% of the field trips in a school year are from IPSD 204 schools, but other groups are also welcome to visit.
