Be Respectful and Be Responsible
- We follow the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) philosophy that values positive behavior systems and supports by promoting proactive and respectful approaches for all Spring Brook community members.
- We follow the CHAMPS classroom management system in which teachers develop a structure that assists students to be responsible and engaged in learning tasks and activities.
- We teach and reinforce anti-bullying processes and intervention strategies. In addition to classroom teachers, Spring Brook has staff members to assist students in understanding how to manage one’s own behavior and how to be a friend to others in need.

Recess Procedures

- Recess is 15 minutes. Students are allowed to play on a majority of the playground if conditions are appropriate, i.e. baseball field may be off limits if it is muddy. Kindergarten students stay on the blacktop and woodchip area for the first semester.
- At approximately 14 minutes into recess, the supervisors will blow their whistles. Students stop what they are doing and proceed to their designated line number.
