Indian Prairie School District receives Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting

The board salutes Indian Prairie School District for receiving the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International for the fiscal year ended 2023.  The award represents a significant achievement and reflects the district’s commitment to transparency and high-quality financial reporting. This is the seventeenth consecutive year in which District 204 has earned the ASBO’s Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting. Congratulations to Matt Shipley and his team for their work in earning this prestigious recognition.


District 204 students named College Sponsored National Merit Scholars 

The board salutes Metea Valley senior, Randolph Ha, and Neuqua Valley senior, Jai Menon, who were recently named 2024 National Merit Scholars by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.

Neuqua Valley freshman achieves rank of Eagle Scout

The board salutes Neuqua Valley freshman, Jack Stevens, for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest advancement rank in scouting. Jack made blankets and birthday bags for the Illinois Foster Closet, a nonprofit in Streamwood that provides necessities for foster children to use in their homes. The bags were filled with toys and clothes donated by Stevens and his family. 
Congratulations to Jack on achieving the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout!


Naperville Newcomers and Neighbors Club Scholarships 

The board salutes Metea Valley senior, Sophie Lin, and Neuqua Valley senior, Aryanna Mong, for receiving scholarships from the Naperville Newcomers and Neighbors Club. These scholarships are funded through generous donations from the club's President’s Circle Sponsor, Stephen “Woody” Woodring, owner of Woody Buick GMC.

District 204 teacher accepted into the Supreme Court Summer Institute

The board salutes Metea Valley social studies teacher, Susan Fuhrer, for being selected as one of sixty teachers nationwide to participate in this summer’s prestigious Supreme Court Summer Institute at Georgetown University. The Institute, which focuses on law-related and civic education, is co-sponsored by Street Law, Incorporated and the Supreme Court Historical Society.

District 204 students SAM Labs Design Showcase winners

The board salutes Steck Elementary third-grade students, Luke Ferrer and Charlie Hesterberg, for winning second place with their boat project, and Shaurya Gupta and Finn Van Damme for placing third with their car with kite project, in the 2024 SAM Labs Design Showcase. Additionally, Fry Elementary fifth-grade students Yuvan Dalal, Vihaan Vilivela, Ronit Khanna, and Advik Dhand were recognized for winning first place with their water gun target project and Olivia Brancati, Salma Abuomar, Saanvika Soni, and Prisha Verma were honored for winning second place with their gumball machine project.

2024 Illinois School Counselor Association Impact Awards

The board salutes Granger Middle School guidance counselor Anna Themanson, Granger Middle School principal Allan Davenport, and the Waubonsie Valley Counseling Department for being honored with a 2024 Illinois School Counselor Association Impact Award. The award recognizes their exceptional dedication and outstanding contributions in supporting students.
